In the 12-Step groups there is an unofficial definition of the difference between “spirituality” (the 12 Step kind) and “religion”.
Religion is for people who don’t want to go to Hell. Spirituality is for people who have already been to Hell and don’t want to go back.
@Doctor Toon – I have met people whose faith/spirituality finds its home in an organized religion. They seem to have an inner security that many might envy.
