Don’t you see? By releasing the guy, the Scottish government has guaranteed that those who died in the crash will never come back to life! If they’d only made sure he died in prison, then everything would be all better!
Get real, people. “Revenge” ain’t the same thing as “Justice.” You’ll get “closure” when YOU decide to let go, not when the person who wronged you suffers sufficiently.
Forgiveness is up to the forgiver, nothing more or less.
The quality of mercy is not strained. It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven,Upon the place beneath. It is twice blessed. It blesseth him that gives and him that takes. It is mightiest in the mightiest,It becomes the throned monarch better than his crown. His sceptre shows the force of temporal power,An attribute to awe and majesty.Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings. But mercy is above this sceptred sway,It is enthroned in the hearts of kings,It is an attribute to God himself. And earthly power dost the become likest God’s,Where mercy seasons justice.

Use every man after his desert, and who should ‘scape whipping? Use them after your own honour and dignity: the less they deserve, the more merit is in your bounty.
Jeff Danziger is good at commenting on the situation in the United States, about which he knows a great deal. When he turns to foreign events and personalities, his lack of preparation becomes all too obvious….
