Odd some think the Obama “honeymoon” is over, but not the right-winger who think the media is in love with him. They also think he and Pelosi are of the same mindset which they aren’t! The fact Obama has 3 out of every 4 Americans on his side is a HUGE plus!

Personally, I’m puzzled by the righties who simultaneously a) claim that Obama is becoming more and more like Bush and b) claim to dislike everything he does.

Clinton was not always right, but Bush was always wrong. Automatically doing the opposite of Bush is a perfectly fine place to start any decision-making process.

Lleray, how long was Bushie in office before Clinton’s terrorist’s flew their planes into the buildings? Where and when did the pilot’s get their training ? What was done when the suspicious actions of these “pilots” were reported? Would the ACLU have allowed the 9/11 hi-jackers to be searched and scrutinized when boarding the planes they eventually hi-jacked? The truth of the matter is that Libs and their action taken during (or inaction) the Clinton terms are just as responsible or more so than the Bushies. But please keep reliving your “bad years”; it just helps your opposition next time around.

So, let me get this straight. Bush isn’t responsible for something that happened 9 months into his term but Obama is responsible for something that happens in 2 months into his?

You ask what Clinton did to stop terrorism? I should ask you what he DIDN’T do. Let’s take a look at a short list:

Destroyed al Qaeda cells in 20 countries, increased military budget 14%, tried to increase tracking of explosives used by terrorists (Repubs blocked it because of opposition from NRA), stopped planned terrorist attacks to blow up: The US Embassy in Albania, the George Washington Bridge, the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels, Boston’s airport, Israel’s Embassy in DC, FBI headquarters, UN Headquarters (John Bolton is mad this didn’t happen), and 12 jetliners simultaneously, as well as a plot to kill the Pope, and stopped the Millennium plot. He also told the Bush Administration about the serious threat that Osama Bin Laden was and that OBL planned to destroy buildings in New York with planes (“Nevertheless, FBI information since that time indicates patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks, including recent surveillance of federal buildings in New York.”)

All the while thwarting attacks from the Right Wing Spin Machine that said he was doing all this to distract from his escapades with Monica Lewinsky.

He won’t be remembered for any of this, of course. He will be remembered for Lewinsky.

Yes. The way you worded this question shows that you know VERY little about what the ACLU does and probably only know what you hear from the right wing. The ACLU protects the rights of ALL Americans. It has never sought to stop valid search warrants.

As for Airport Security, I think I’m on pretty safe ground asserting that most airports were afraid to administer Israeli-type searches on any of their passengers; as proven by the one guard suspicious of one of the 9/11 attackers having her objections over-rode by her superiors.

I have to plead ”mercy”. If I go google-ing on my computer it takes five minutes for each page to load , if it even loads at all. So I must budget my bandwidth, Daniel and if I’m wrong…so be it. But I think my points are common knowledge. The Millenium plot was foiled by a watchful border guard - hardly Clinton’s success. And as I recall one hi-jacker was given back his box-cutter as this was not a prohibited item…We were wide open and we wanted it that way. I’m sure you’ve seen Richard ?Clark? on TV; would you have believed anything that man told you? Or the Glamour CIA agent and her Hubby (Clinton Picks - Mr. and Mrs. No-Yellow-Cake)? I think I could have botched their and their opponents jobs (protecting America) for a lot less money And then the 9/11 Commission was allowed to sweep it all under the rug. Remember Sandy Berger shoving stuff in his pants? I really don’t think I have to do invalidate any of the spurious comments you Libs frequently roll out in order to win points.
