What a transformation Alice undergoes in panel 3! It’s like Larry Talbot at the full moon, only worse. How fast will your cart go, Dill?!

As Linus might have said: the fury of a woman scorned is nothing compared to the fury of a woman cheated out of a Halloween costume idea.

Oh Alice. It’s all made up. Just look around, politics, religion, economics, holidays…

Alice why can’t you just go to the store and pick one out like all the other kids??

Don’t be surprised if Alice the Forceful uses some uses some of that force in the 4th panel.

i love it when you can just use stuff around the house – this year I don’t have to buy costumes for the first time. Last year I shelled out 30$ a pop on vampire and witches dresses!

If I were Alice’s mom, I’d go along with it. As I said yesterday just a crown, cape and basket. I made all the costumes for my kids. I was thinking about some of the easier ones just now. When they were little I made them of flannel so they could wear as PJs for the rest of the year. We often made masks of paper mache (they helped), but one easy one was one son who wanted to be a wolf man – I used some of their hair cuttings (with 3 sons, I always did that – for their dad too while I kept him).

That’s quite a scare for Dill — and Hallowe’en is still four days away!

Better make a coffin for The Dillster. I betcha there will be more than a few of these on Monday! You might have to wrassle a cart from a homeless guy in the bushes next to WalMart but it’ll be a hoot at a party.

Somehow, having seen this for a while, this mom is far too busy with the personalities of Petey and Alice to be in ANY competition with other moms. I was never in any-just loved making great costumes for my kids-when tiny they were clowns, then all black cats (and I dressed as the devil-used lipstick on my whole face and regretted that-still have a photo), we did Robin and John with youngest as Friar Tuck, first group with daughter was OZ-she was Dorothy, youngest boy was lion, eldest was tin man and middle was scarecrow. Tinman was sewn of sheets with foil rubber glued (a mess when he finished the night – not a happy camper ;-(
