Nate is so unlucky. The local cat is a complete genius and the local dog is a complete idiot. Most cats and dogs aren’t like that.

I think it wasn’t the first time Marty let an animal in the house, because on one strip where Nate was finding his time capsule. He dug out his dead pet hamster instead, which is by the way in a future strip.
