“Tribal associations”, in Afghanistan, Viet Nam, most of south Asia, most of Africa, and most of South America holds stronger connection than ANY “national” government, as recognized by the PEOPLE. Afghanistan held those tribal governments, for OVER A THOUSAND YEARS before “Islam” even entered the area! Most Vietnamese outside the cities, wanted their village and TRIBAL leaders, NOT “national” leaders! (and yes, most were Buddhists, not “atheists”, OR Communists)
Agate: we “only” kill about 32,000 people a year with guns, roughly half, around 15 K are gun homicides. Of course Viet Nam killed 58,000 plus of our troops, so it would take a WHOLE TWO YEARS ! OUTRAGEOUS to claim our piddly efforts to kill each other off at home can match our foreign “adventures”. (Okay, so we DO kill with homicide 3-4 times the total number killed in Afghanistan and Iraq, every year, but you have to admit, our fellow citizens DO “try harder”!!)
