My daughter has red hair. She’s married now and has a 2-year-old son with red hair. Boys had crushes on my daughter when she was small and when she was a teenager. Those redheads get all the attraction sometimes. Did anyone ever hear this redhead joke? What’s the difference between a redhead and terrorist? You can negotiate with a terrorist.
Charles Schulz was rejected by the redhead in his past. She thought he was a loser (poor financial prospects). His first wife had a personality like Lucy Van Pelt’s. His second wife was much nicer.
There is actually a stage play that came out a few years ago in which CB is a teenager. He’s depressed because Snoopy has died. It’s got a lot of adult content, most of which I’ll leave to your imagination. I can’t remember what it was called, but I think I could find out. So in the play, CB goes to visit Lucy in the mental hospital, where they’re keeping her since she started setting fire to stuff, and you find out that she’s his ex-girlfriend. Peppermint Patty and Marcie are lovers, of course (that was always kind of in the cards), Linus is a big stoner, and there’s some pretty dark stuff around some of the others. Pretty interesting if not taken too seriously. The ending is pretty cool.
If Charles Schutz was INFP and he married someone like Lucy (who reminds me of a very immature ENFJ), no wonder he and his first wife had problems. They would’ve swung between being the best of friends and wanting to kill each other, most likely. I don’t know the facts of the situation but that would be my first guess about the dynamic.
CB is also good at spelling. In “A Boy Named Charlie Brown”, he went all the way to the National Spelling Bee, where he won silver. He misspelled beagle, his dog’s breed.
@hmofo813: No! Snoopy can’t die! He is immortal! :o( … I like the part about Lucy in the mental hospital though… do you remember what happened to Schroeder in the play?

Good grief, Charlie Brown, just TALK to her. I know crushes make people shy, but we’ve got to take them head on.

I’m with Snoopy on this one.

Isn’t Charlie Brown too young for “swinging”?? (nudge nudge wink wink)
solarrhino about 12 years ago
It is rather silly. She’s unlikely to be meaner than Lucy, and you talk to her.

Charlie Brown’s pants have pockets?!

I feel bad for Snoopy. CB should read today’s “Overboard”.

Hang in there CB. In a few more years you will be able to legally marry Snoopy.

“I’ll never get to swing with her” sure has a different meaning now than it did in 1965.

The less you know the better off you are, Snoopy.

Thirty years later, CB is arrested for stalking young red headed girls … Sigh!

I sometimes wonder if Charlie married her when they grew up.

It is ok snoopy.

In real life, Charlie Brown (AKA Charles Schulz) did grown up and marry the little red-haired girl.

I’ve noticed that CB won a few things. He’s great at marbles, persistance, loving animals, girls hearts, and lots of fans!
