I thought it was the Medusa’s gaze, not her snakes, that led to being turned to stone. In which case, did Elena still get turned to stone?
This Medusa may to be the original Gorgon, but a descendent. She’s learned to modulate her whammy.
Quite possible that Elena was turned to stone-just AFTER putting the things to sleep
