    Know your facts before you make a statement that makes you look stupid, as you just did. More illegal immagrants have been deported under the Obama administration than any other. So what isn’t he doing again? Right wingers always make statements like they are fact when they are the farthest thing from… It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad

    Scalia DID realize that with his “Italian” complexion, both he and Sotomayor would likely find themselves interrogated after a traffic stop in Phoenix.

    State’s rights… except of course for Montana’s 1912 law limiting corruption, which the Supreme’s threw out without allowing arguments. Conservatives can’t allow state’s rights if they might allow US citizens to vote on laws about corporations!

    When an Arizonan officer stops and deports a Swedish illegal immigrant, I’ll believe that it’s not racial profiling.

    My spouse is part native American. He will not go near Arizona! He knows he would be asked for his papers, even though he never lived outside the USA. People shouldn’t have to deal with this harassment.

    What about the majority of Legal Latinos and Native Americans or 1/2-1/4 bloods who will be hassled?

    Tigger, read the decision! Just a car stop remains cause for a call to provide proof of citizenship, if “reasonable suspicion”(undefined by the court) is present. Interesting that it also said folks do NOT need to “carry papers”, so Arizona WILL screw up.

    BTW, as wabbit points out, a “Native American” is 400 times more likely to be asked for proof, than an illegal German immigrant.

    “…it will be only a matter of months before the first profiling lawsuit is filed.” Sounds reasonable.Every lawyer that wants to appear before the Supreme Court will be chasing police cars in AZ. Many of us know that when criminals are stopped from being bad- they cry ‘racism’.

    Obama has declared he will subvert his Oath of Office and Will Not prosecute Illegal Latinos which is an Act of Reverse Racism.

    Many on the Supreme Court made it clear that 1. The Federal Government makes immigration law, 2. The Feds should be taken to the wood shed because of their failures on immigration....Bottom Line: Supreme Court encourages Voters to replace ALL incumbents in Congress and White House.I support throwing the bums out.

    If you don’t like the way the immigration laws are being enforced, tell your Congressman to increase the INS’s funding. At the current level of staffing, an illegal immigrant who is not charged with a serious crime will be assigned a hearing date 5 years from now.

    Of course. He’s deporting those accused of serious crimes, not the guy mowing a lawn without a green card.

    If you aren’t happy about that, tell your congressman to increase the INS budget.

    @Eryx

    “So, you want in, too?” …I guess you are telling me to ‘put up’ or ‘shut up’. Point Taken.I will step into the cross-fire between D and R as ‘The Loyal Opposition’- an Independent. It is absolutely necessary that I have 2 advisers that can clearly state the Conservative and Liberal points of view and EXPLAIN the underlying assumptions. I am a problem solver and it is obvious that I need both R & D support to propose any solution that has a chance of implementation.Eryx- will you accept the position of Adviser?

    “How many months are you in for? Perhaps we should start a pool.” My goal is 3 months. By then, I should be shot with so many holes that a screen door will look like a bank vault door compared to me. Actually, I am hoping people will say frequently: “I can live with the proposed compromise”....Are you ‘IN’, too?
