et2008 Obviously you are well informed like most people who are anti-chiropractic. They have no idea what the educational requirements are to become one. Most chiropractors have college degrees prior to chiropractic college. My good friend Scott Banks, who is a chiropractor has a degree in ceramic engineering and helped design the space shuttle tiles. He also has a masters in nutrition. There are many chiros that are M.D.s. (Look up Scott Haldleman, Phd, M.D. D.C.) Others have degrees in other fields such as mechanical engineering. Many have degrees in physical therapy. As far as curing colds and such, I think you would be hard pressed to find a chiro that believed that. Most believe the more optimal your body is functioning the better you are in overcoming illness. Staying healthy requires a good diet, a good mental state of mind, avoiding exposure to toxins as well as other forms of physical and mental stress. If having your organs cut out and being injected with drugs is the way to better health; good luck with that. The AMA (a glorified trade union) was found guilty of conspiracy to eliminate chiropractic by creating rumors and undermining any attempts to improve chiropractic educational facilities; even blocking the acquisition for land by a chiropractor to be used for a free clinic to help mentally disabled children. As far as scientific studies see the new Zealand study, Canada’s Manga report and even studies done by United States HHS, all showing the efficacy and usually the superiority of chiropractic over other methods for the relief of back pain.

The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest her or his patients in the care of the human frame, in a proper diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.

    Thomas A. Edison

Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine (460-370 BC), described manipulative procedures in his monumental work known as the Corpus Hippocrateum. He wrote, “Get knowledge of the spine, for this is the requisite for many diseases.”

By the way, I’m one of those “quack” chiropractors. (You have to have a thick skin to do this job and follow the truth. The truth: The power that made the body heals the body.)

In my experience, the only “real doctors” with “real degrees” as you call them, are quacks who diagnose based on instructions from health insurance accountants.Nurses do the lion’s share of medical care in the US.

There are many professionally trained quacks from all fields out there. There are many Chiros that give relief from pain to those that medicine has given up. No, chiros can not cure colds or other ailments, but a properly aligned back can help many other hurts.Just as there is room for acupuncture in modern medicine, there is room for those that can align your skeleton

By the way I have a biology degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. My two best friends from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Hugh Cline and Jeff Teass, have degrees from William and Mary; not exactly a fly-by-night school. But no matter how much info I present to people such as yourself it is usually futile; like arguing about gun control or abortion.

Trillions of dollars are to be made by big pharma of they can keep you convinced that M.D.s are the way to better health.

Geeez! I wish you good guys would learn not to feed the creeps. Seriously, everything you have said is being ignored by the idiot because he in all his self-rightous glory KNOWS he’s right. Feh. Just move on, guys. It’s a waste of your energy better used elsewhere.
