This is a variation on the “you won a motor boat” scam. You send them a couple hundred dollars shipping fee, they send you a rubber raft with a $15 motor. All you folks who saw this coming a while back hopefully won’t fall for it (although thousands a year do).

Sad story of hopes dashed in a scam: The box contains only a toy sized car, too tiny for Slim to be able to take anyone for a ride. The whole village will learn soon. What rattles is a broken promise.

Time for Clovia to start lookin’ for a new vehicle. Slim needs to start apoligizing to everyone he promised and pay his bills.

If it’s a car that needs assembling, Slim could actually do it! Give him some credit.

They will still owe all their bills and have no transportation. Bad situation for a garage.

At this rate it will take them until Friday to open the box and another 2 weeks worth of strips to catch on to what happened. Tis story is just getting started.

I think everyone saw the toy car story line coming a long time ago. And I’ve seen a slower progressing story line in a different strip. (local strip)
