Moving out of check and mating at the same time is not only possible, but not even especially unlikely. Opening yourself up for a check is an ideal way to lure your opponent into making the penultimate move that completes your trap.

It is possible to checkmate your opponent like that, but it is fairly easy for many people to not make that mistake. If Gina really is good at chess, she would have been able to avoid a mistake like that. Still a funny comic strip. She had it coming!

And I don’t understand folks like rollsroyce. We are all well aware that this is a cartoon rollsroyce. Can’t someone make a comment or a tech. point about something without being jumped on.

I have lots of experience in chess and I know that it’s really rare for something like this to happen, mainly because the person (in this case Gina) would be smart enough to know not to do a move like that.
