Mark: We'll be right back after this message from corporate America! "Boys! Girls! Sell seeds in your spare time!" TV: Thanks, Rona. Next up is Mr. Bernie Sanders, mayor of the city of Burlington, Mr. Sanders enjoys the distinction of being the first socialist mayor elected in the state of Vermont since the depression. Bernie, I want to welcome you to the tomorrow show on behalf of all the NBC television stations from coast to coast. Thank you, Tom. I bring you greetings from the people's republic of Burlington. Mr. Mayor, let's be candid, okay? You're a socialist. You're a jew. You're from New York. So how the heck'd you get elected? The people of Burlington wanted a change. They decided to send the capitalist system a clear message. So what kind of impact do you think we're talking here, Ernie? Far-reaching. As you know, only two weeks after I was elected mayor, a socialist was elected president of France. Hey, c'mon, Bernie, give ol' Tom a break! You think they're related? Burlington has always had a special relationship with the French. We have a saying here: "As goes Burlington so goes France." Any practical benefits to you? Nothing major. They knock a little off the list price on renaults.
First mention of the Bernster!
