Unicornstar: this is a reference to a much loved film, It’s A Wonderful Life. The main character, George Bailey, is shown what his community would be like if he had never been born. An angel named Clarence helps him, and tells him that “Every time a bell rings, an angel is awarded his or her wings.” At the end of the movie, George’s little girl says the same thing after hearing a little bell ring. George knows that this means his friend Clarence has finally gotten his wings.
This film is shown every year at Christmas time in the US. It is something of a holiday tradition.
