Elly: How did the deposition go, honey? Elizabeth: OK. Where's Uncle Phil? Elly: I drove him back to the hotel. They got my Dad up today. He had a shower and ate a little. He recognizes me and Iris. He has trouble speaking, but there's feeling and movement in both legs... he didn't recognize Phil... which upset him terribly. Elizabeth: I know. When he saw me he thought I was you... but younger! Elly: The worst thing about a stroke is the waiting. It takes time for the brain to heal, and for one's abilities to return. If they return.
My grandmother had 2 strokes and they destroyed a lot. Her personality took almost 180 degrees. She became nasty and cruel with pure hate tantrums.
