the idea behind the web shooter is that it’s a protein based fluid kept in a cartridge that is fired out of a nozzle that instantly turns into a foam string upon contact with the air, like silly string but stronger than steel cable. The problem is that the mechanism needs to be able to withstand the massive amount of pressure behind it (which is substantial considering the web can go flying hundreds of feet) and I don’t think a 5th grader has access to the kinds of materials necessary to make something like that fit on their wrist.
