Voices: I read this report by one of our managers, and it really takes the company's economic downturns to task... Yessir. Man 1: It's quite forceful, straight forward and doesn't pull any punches, no one is spared from criticism, including me! Man 2: Indeed sir. Man 1: But he follows up each negative with a positive solution! This is just the kind of assertive, strong-willed, independent thinker that we need to move the company forward! Give this guy a raise and a promotion before we lose him!! Man 2: Uh.. not him sir... her. Man 1: now that I read it more carefully, it comes off as rather bitchy, doesn't it. Man 2: Yessir. Shall I cite the standard excuse of our economic downturn for her dismissal?
Such borderline encroaching caption offended some newspaper editors enough to ban Non Sequitur. Other newspapers celebrated the attitude.
