Lucy: Why are you folding up your drawing? Danae: Well, it started out as a picture of two planets colliding... then I thought I'd try making it into a piece of fold-in art like Al Jaffee does in MAD magazine. I call it, ultimate calamity meets ultimate beauty! Lucy: Cool! How does it work? Danae: You fold it along the dotted lines, then make the outside lines meet. Lucy: How about ultimate egotist is no Al Jaffeee...? Danae: Ultimately, no one is, Lucy. Congratulations to a MAD genius!
Al will always hold a place in my heart as a cartoonist, as well as many places on my bookshelves.
