However, I’ve had three magazine and book editors tell me to never, ever start a story with ‘Once upon a time’, or even with Snoopy’s ‘It was a dark and stormy night’.The opening sentence to any story has to POP. The first few sentences will be the determining factor as to whether a reader will continue to read. If it doesn’t hook you by the first paragraph, put the book back on the shelf.I’m just sayin’…
