Linus stands on a doorstep and knocks on a door. He holds an open box in his arm.

A girl (Violet?) peeks her head out the door. Linus says, "Good morning, Miss...I'm selling a new item for kittens, and I.."

The girls says, "For what?"

The girl joins Linus on the doorstep. He explains, "For kittens... This is a new toy I have developed... A kitten can entertain himself for hours with this toy..."

"This toy is simplicity itself...I have taken several pieces of scrap paper and I have crumpled them up..." Linus demonstrates with an upraised arm.

"A kitten will play for hours with a piece of crumpled paper! He'll bat it, and he'll jump at it..." Linus plays with the paper.

Linus sits down and holds the paper above his head, exclaiming, "And if you hang it from a string he'll hit it and box with it and everything!"

"It's really fun to watch a kitten bounce around..." Linus bounces around.

Linus holds a piece out to her. He offers, "Would you like to buy one? They're only five cents apiece.." The girl responds: "Why should I buy one? Why can't I just crumple a piece of paper myself?"

Linuslooks at the box. [PANEL 11]: He looks up. [PANEL 12]: Linus walks away, saying, "All along I've been afraid there was something wrong with this idea..."

But, Violet, you’d have to buy that piece of paper first! And maybe Linus crumples them in a scientifically designed, kitten-tested way. Anyway, you should hardly talk, you tried to sell boxed dirt twenty years earlier, https://www.gocomics.com/peanuts/1953/05/22
