You seem to be jumping to conclusions based on some idea about heroes and villains. But there are no heroes or villains in Aaron’s stories, that’s the point. These aren’t stories about heroes, they are stories about people, and all the shades of grey. They aren’t stories meant to make you cheer for some unrealistic heroic ideal, they are stories meant to make you think. They are about the human condition, the way great sci-fi should be. And it’s what makes Endtown so great, in my opinion.

Nobody predicts Aaron’s plots and twists.

@Seito Akai – well, technically it was the police that went with that, not the writers. The writers just had to trust the police.

The Lucranians are the race that built that flying ship that Aaron Marx was using.

I don’t think Gildedtongue said homosexuality wasn’t mentioned, he only said it originally wasn’t the point of the story. The sin was the rape part of it (and a bunch of other stuff God explains later), not the homosexuality part of it (as I recall, God doesn’t even mention that in his later explanation).

You know, if you had read the archives, you’d know we’ve already met a Topsider who became a mutant and turned into one of the “good guys”, and is also still alive. Linda. I don’t particularly see why you think we need another Topsider with a fate that would just be a carbon copy of Linda’s, when there are different stories that can be told with the current gang.

In the zoomed-in view, I read the lizard’s surname on the poster in panel 1 as “Ballone”. So you’re right, it’s not Phil.

I pretty much do. If I had told you “you’re morally obliged to do whatever I ask because I’m better than you and your friends, and because I hold you responsible for things you’re not guilty of”, would you do what I asked, or would you shake your head and walk away? I’m guessing you’d walk. But from Kirbee’s perspective, that’s basically what Holly said. So I think Kirbee is a really nice person for not walking off.

It would be nicer of Holly to say something more like “Please, this will only take a moment, I can’t get up there on my own. You’ve taken me this far, don’t let it be for nothing.”

Of course, Aaron may be trying to make a point. Even Holly isn’t immune to what happens to your personality when you’ve taken too much crap.

That’s not a very nice argument, Holly. “You owe me” after Kirbee already risked her own life for you? “You people”? You’re just lucky Kirbee doesn’t walk off right there.

I think the only reason for Phil to stand like that in panel 3 is if he’s trying to wipe away some blood from his face. So he’s bleeding, but the punch in panel 1 probably doesn’t have anything to do with it.
