Dusty: Evelyn! Did you see this story that kids in a grade school back east won't be allowed to play "tag" anymore during recess. Evelyn: Why, for heaven's sake? Dusty: Too much of a chance of "accidents" happening... school liability! In fact, no "contact sports" will be allowed! Evelyn: Wasn't "contact" what a lot of it was about? Girl: Oh! Excuse me! Aren't you Jimmie Winters? Boy: Sure am. You're one of hte Hansen girls. I'm on my way to get a malted. Want to join me?
It’s not the schools or the kiddies that are at fault. Rather it is the litigious parents and the lawyers who make the issue a financial one. If we – as kids – scraped a knee, or fell over, or got rough-housed in games or sports type activities, then so be it.Man up (or grow up whichever), and keep going. A little pain never really hurt anyone, and allowed everyone to experience what the real world is, and it isn’t the namby pamby, cotton wool wrapped, place it is rapidly becoming.
