Gran says, "I wonder how Bill could have said nothing to me for such a long time." Kiesl says, "Have you ever known a man recovering from brain damage such as his?" Kiesl says, "Do you have any idea of the profound change, the depth of its effect, on a person... what it means to be enslaved by it, to emerge from it... to rebuild who you are at such a creeping, almost undetectable rate?..." Kiesl says, "...To be racked with seizures, memory gaps spanning years, anger, frustration... to want you and love you and fear your seeing him until he can return to being the person you once loved in return?" Gran says, "You pretty much told me I must go see Bill." Kiesl says, "And I may always regret it."
