Mail room?

I thought dropping through into a shredder would be bad enough, but this tops that, I think.

We had a Phd, Dr. John, come up with a brilliant solution to a problematic rocket motor problem. It was referred to as John’s Folly until it was tested and shown to work. The top manager, Bob, adopted it and it became Bob’s Special. Later the Phd was laid off. I was just the test tech and was not sure of the personality dynamics. I liked Dr. John because he would put on a fire retardant jump suit and help out in the testing set up. He knew his way around the hardware besides the theory.

That would be Mr. Metcalf in Human Resources. The tough part is that years later I met his son and had to hear what a wonderful person his father was. Was able to smile and shake my head appropriately. Lesson is to never speak ill of the dead.
