At least none of them still read their comics in a newspaper!

I miss phonebooks a little bit. They were so useful when you needed a few inches more height to get something!

The original Luddites were 19th century British textile workers who were among the first victims of capitalism.

After being replaced by automated machinery operated by unskilled workers who produced cheap, inferior goods, the Luddites aggressively fought back with protests and sabotage. Their threatening letters were often signed “Ned Ludd”—a semi-fictitious Robin Hood-like character of the early industrial age.

Protestors were, of course, shot, executed or transported to distant colonies.

As an engineer I like new tech. However, I see no point in spending extra money on the latest thing if my old way is working just fine for me.

I still get where I am going, have written records when I need them … and have to pay extra for a phone book. :)

I still use maps – easier than trying to get the online maps with close-ups to identify landmarks or rivers OR depending on GPS – which doesn’t even tell you what city you are in, just the roads and intersections. Give me a paper map every time.

What I really miss is the phone book. Nothing has replaced it even online.
