My father said he’d pay my college, I declined. I did exactly what I wanted to do. Farmboy, mailman, Army, factory, but the best and the one I enjoyed most was rewiring older homes. I loved doing that!
My oldest did not want to go to college. “I want to be a mechanic.” I sent him off to Aircraft and Power Plants technical school. Not quite two years and he was building airplanes for an aerospace company. He did go to college later but that practical A&P knowledge still is very, very valuable. He’s launching rockets now and near retirement soon.
