Harvey Herbst was Station manager of
KLRN-TV and KUT-FM, operated by the University of Texas Communications Center in the early 70’s.
He starred in the short film “Target…Austin, Texas” (1960, made for TV) as Roger Klukis, who, with his family, survives a near miss nuclear strike by having followed Civil Defense instructions.
Semi retired, he regularly tours as a singer and musical director with the Getting Better All the Time choir.
Dr. Herbst is 83.
He may also have taught English at the University and been a Sgt. with the 89th Infantry Division during WWII.
