I am an alumni of Rice U in Houston. Rice’s football team was all volunteer and rarely won a game, in part because the players were held to the same high academic standards as everyone else, but the Owls also had a volunteer band that generally did parodies – none more hilarious than when playing against A&M. As I recall, some years ago the prez of A&M wrote a letter to the Rice prez protesting the content of the halftime show.
