Adam: Why don't we all go out for dinner? I'm starving. Laura: Great. Mexican? Pizza? Adam: Let me boil a pot of coffee and we can think about it. Laura: A pot of coffee before we go out to eat? We're all famished. Adam: Sure. But I never like to eat on an empty stomach. Ready to go? Laura: In a minute. As a sign of respect, I'm waiting for Groucho Marx to spin the full 360 degrees in his grave before we go.
“I never eat on an empty stomach” used to be a common expressions among drinkers, in the movies and real life.
