OK. Some of you are missing the point. This strip is not so much poking fun at dads as poking fun at the phenomenon of poking fun at dads.

Yes, we men have it so rough in this world. It used to be that a middle-class, White Dad could count on 90% of the world running for his benefit, but now it’s only like 70%… It’s almost like we aren’t the standard against which all others are judged anymore…

As a non-Caucasian male living in North America, I think men are increasingly being butt of jokes especially in TV and radio commercials. Men acting stupid is automatically termed as funny. Having sense of humour is one thing, being continuously ridiculed for just being a man is another.

I’ve said before that, as a man, I have no objection to the bar being set so low. It makes it easy to rise above women’s expectations whenever I want to (or fall to them when I want to, as the case may be).
