HEYYYY!!! Four or FIVE Stanley Cups in the late ’70’s/early ’80’s!!

Could be worse. Could be the Blue Jackets (and this coming from a Blue Jackets fan).

@ Boise Ed from yesterday: The face mask rule is not enforced at all here. Most of us wear them, but some just have visors and others have nothing at all.

Hockey is like everything else. It’s not what you have done in the past, it’s what you’ve done right now and what you will do.

As much a fan of ’em as I am … it COULD be a Leafs puck. (I shed tears every game and every season, hoping my Boys in Blue will FINALLY get their arses in gear, and win me a damn cup!)

It’ll be a tough call, but if I were a betting man I’d put my money on the 1985 Chicago Bears to take the Stanley Cup this year. Sure, some of those guys are in their 60’s now, and Payton’s dead, but they have heart.

Granted, it’d take ‘em a game or two to learn how to skate (and since the season’s already started they’d have some catching-up to do), but Ditka would whip ’em into shape, and if we put Perry in the goal nobody would score on them all season.

Then, once hockey season’s over, they’d be positioned very well for a Presidential run as the independent ticket. They’d have the momentum, and by skipping the primaries it’s as good as getting a ‘bye’ through November 3.
