At least banshees have a sense of musicality.

LOL! I used to be one of those obnoxious teenagers (although, for me it was a way to escape reality rather than a need to impose my music on everyone), and now I’m a hard-of-hearing adult.

Rap music was great. UNTIL Marshall Bruce Mathers III started singing and swearing every other word. That’s when secular music as a whole went down in quality.

I know my father said the same thing about rock n roll, but punk rock and rap music sound like nonsense to my ears.

What I hate is that they usually have ALL the windows open in their car, as if we want to hear their music (?) or care about how bad they’re destroying their own hearing! (On second thought, maybe that’s the only way they can stand the volume that high.)

Ugh. Our stupid teenager blew out the rear speakers in our car last week.

As someone who has severe tinnitus, the kids need to be educated, not punished. If they keep it up, they won’t feel the effects for 20-30 years, but it is not pleasant when tinnitus sets in. And there is no cure — not even any kind of remediation that makes it easier to live with.

Was at a gas station when a kid pulled up with everything blasting full volume like that. As he got out of his car, I grinned at him and told him, Careful—you end up with these, as I yanked my hearing aids out and held them in front of my face to show him.

I wasn’t being judgmental, I was smiling, and dang if the kid didn’t go back inside his car and turn the music down to soft. Cool.

The power of being nice… (I hope I saved his hearing.)

This is why I have bagpipe music in the car. Cuts through ANYTHING.

Unfortunately it’s not just kids that do this. :(

I wish somebody would invent something that you could aim at a stereo that is to loud and burn up all the electronic in it.
