Adam: Wanna help me take the trash out? Clayton: What? It's snowing outside! Adam: Sorry. I wasn't clear. I wasn't really asking. Clayton: Fine. But this has to be breaking some kind of child labor law. Adam: This is good for you. Clayton: Taking out the trash is good for me?? Adam: Sure. It teaches you responsibility. Builds character. Clayton: Pssh. I have character coming out of my ears. Adam: I have some q-tips that'll help with that. Clayton: Don't try to distract me with your dad-related silliness.

My Dad didn’t do silliness. He’d have smacked me up side the head in panel 3 for talking back and would have not made anymore comments while I did as I was told.

When I was in the second grade, my dad informed me that taking out the trash was my chore. Even though I have an older and younger brother and an older sister; that chore remained mine until I left home. No one ever asked. It’s just what I did every day.
