Adam: So then you multiply by 83, right? Clayton: Umm.. No. By .83, right? 'Cause of this thing? Adam: Ahh... Yes... Yes. Very good. I was testing you. Our son is smarter than me. Laura: Maybe book smarts. But can he name the entire cast of "What's Happening!!"?

At Clayton’s age, they still don’t use calculators very much. I remember just a few years ago when my kids were in elementary school – they had to learn how to use them, but couldn’t use them for most work or tests. Then they got into hih school, and their graphing calculators were more complicated than anything I ever did. I’d need a separate class just to use one.

Yes, your son is smarter than you, Adam. But then, that wouldn’t take much! :-D

Adam: In the last panel you should have said “Our son is smarter than I” ;-)

I used to know the What’s Happening cast. But that portion of my brain that I use for such trivia reached its capacity a long time ago. .So that list has left my brain. I replaced it with something else. …. forget what though…… :)

At the time I encountered RPN, those were the new calculators.
