It's gonna be people we don't know! It'll be old people talking and talking and talking! Katy: The whole place'll smell like coffee breath and grandma perfume! Clayton: Oh. I'm dreading this. Katy: I wanna hang out here! Adam: ME,TOO!! Clayton: It's okay! We can fake a family-wide illness! Katy: Something really gross and phlegmy! Laura: And airborne!

I go to my brother’s and then to a friend’s. I have 2 thanksgivings and stay away from political talk. I also make appetizers, stuffing and desserts. Today is Cranberry sauce.

We rotate between the few family members still in the area. The hostess makes the main course, and everybody signs up to bring something. This year, we’re going to my nephew’s home. They will fix the turkey and stuffing, somebody else is making mashed potatoes, we’re bringing a veggie, a cheese ball, and something for us to eat as a main course, as we don’t do animals.

This year we’re home because we’re doing the BIG family thing at Christmas in San Diego. It’s a 2 1/2 day drive each way, so driving down for both Holidays is just too much for us. Don’t mind at all. This year we’re expecting 3 to 6 inches of snow on Wednesday, so staying warm and snuggly on Thursday is fine with me!

Second cousins are more like friends than family. Of course, in some areas of the US, family and friends are one and the same…

No need for the whole family to be sick, Nick gets “sick”, the whole family stays home.
