Adam: Ready to go shopping? Katy: I was born ready. Are we going to the mall? Adam: No way! Heck with the mall. We're going downtown to support our local small businesses. Do some real shopping. Katy: Downtown doesn't have Cinnabon. Adam: Don't confuse me. I'm trying to make a stand.

No Cinnabon, but downtown usually has a wonderful bakery selling goodies that are much tastier than mall crap.

No, but the local bakery has really great cinnamon buns, fresh made that day…….

I support my local businesses as much as possible. I found to my surprise prices are many times cheaper than online. And I mean by as much as 20% sometimes.

Thank you to all who support local small business, and continue to do so every time you go shopping or looking for help. Although we appreciate the “Shop Local” concept, dedicating only one day a year to the effort is an insult to many of us “small” business men and women…

I haven’t been to a mall in many years. As a small businessman (not a retailer), I try to shop local when I can. The money goes back into the community, instead of being siphoned off to Wall Street and to Landlords. In turn, those business people can spend money with me. I agree, it’s not a one-day a year thing, it’s something you do every day. And, as for Cinnabon, I’ve had them, and they’re not very good cinnamon rolls, but then I was spoiled long ago by local bakers.

Can we just keep the socio-political issues out of the comics and draw for funny, please?

I’m lucky to live in an area where several cities have a great downtown area. Yea!
