I wonder if anyone recognizes whether or not she is referencing a real song?

Might be Jim Stafford’s ‘Spiders & Snakes’.

When you get an earworm in your head and can’t get rid of it, quick, think of a song you love. “Hear” that in your mind or go to you tube and find it and play it a few times. Get that song in your head instead of the other one.

Cover your ears, Clayton, before she starts singing it!

I had an earworm the other day and complained to my wife. Being a caring partner I didn’t tell her the name of the song as I didn’t want to infect her. ;-)

There’s no need to panic until she starts sporting either a hat or boots, or (worse) both/

The essentials of a traditional country song: my dog done died, leaving town on a train, my woman left me.

Country Music and Heartland Rock can be very catchy music and catchy lyrics indeed. My favorite….

“Corn-fried” and “swimming hole.” You’re halfway to country music stardom, Katy.

Of course, if you aim for Country-Western tunes, you might be able to wangle a horse out of this mess.

I can sympathize with Katie and Clayton. My dad used to make us listen to his infernal country music on the 8-track player in his El Camino. Every now and then, I’ll get a flashback of one of them in my head. It’s like an pickax on my brain.
