What ever happened to the great Kiddielands of my youth? Little dipper roller coaster, pony rides, little trains, boats that went in a circle. I would love to take my granddaughter to something like that.
I used to love roller coasters. Everywhere we went, I’d find the amusement park and ride all its roller coasters. Then one day, I had a panic attack during a ride at Six Flags in California. And that was it for my collecting roller coasters.
We used to go to one at Barry Island, the “Scenic Railway” wound up and round inside before emerging at the top and turning sharp left, the front row of seats overhung the front wheels you were hanging over nothing for a brief moment before snapping hard left- scared the c**p out of me at 6 years old and have been afraid of heights ever since.
I’m a bit of a speed-freak when it comes to cars, but the falling sensation from a roller coaster is not my idea of a good time. Even less so, those Drop Zone/Tower-of-Terror falling bench rides. Something that spins you in really fast circles is more my speed.

Maybe stick to the lower non fancy loop-de-loop coasters then.

Not a fan of heights, but I made myself go at least one ride on a Rollercoaster every time I went to an amusement park
Just turned 61 last month, don’t know if that’s too old but I think I’ll claim it is

I think that as a courtesy to older adults, amusement parks should have signs that say
“You must be less than ‘x’ years old to ride”
It would make it easier to save face. ;-)

I’m with Adam. I rode one roller coaster as a teen and concluded I never wanted to ride another.

I feel the same way about roller coasters, Adam.

Yeah. I’m not afraid of heights either. It’s just the agonizing pain from a possible fall that keeps me on the ground at ALL times.

Maybe stick to the bumper cars.
