There is one thing among many which I have learned from life. If one asks for something as a gift – one will definitely NOT get it. One of the other things I have learned from life – if by some rare reason one gets the gift one has asked for – it will not be worth having.
For a number of decades (since I finally learned these things long before knew him) my husband is upset as I do not want any gifts – trouble after all of the troupes about wives saying this and meaning something else made it take a few decades before he believed me that I really meant NOT to give me anything for any occasion. Saves money and no more added junk around the house – at least of mine. Just sit on Christmas and watch him open his presents (which he bought himself while we were out shopping for other – non-holiday items) and be disappointed in them and then return them when the stores reopen. (Same idea applies to birthdays/wedding anniversaries also.)

To be bound in a book form. After you’ve finished the preface and dedications.

I have a ream or two you can borrow.

I’m surprised a first grader knows what a “ream” of paper is. Does she know, that 10 reams is a bale?
mrsalex about 1 year ago
Say no, Adam.

All she’s going to get is a new printer.

Even Katy is better at creative writing than Adam.

BTW, things sure have changed. My adolescent training is still in effect today, I got the chills when I saw her say ‘be a doll’ to her Dad.

Just add the ream of paper to your list

My son once handed me a 10page wish list that was color-coded and cross-referenced.

Asking for so much makes you look greedy, and Santa doesn’t care much for greedy kids. Ask for gifts for other people and improve your soul.
