Once upon a time I worked in a hardware store, in plumbing and electrical,which I had a basic knowledge about. A guy calls up and starts describing a wiring project beyond My level and I told the guy that. “ Huh”, he says, “ I thought you were supposed to know all about this stuff!” “If I knew everything about electricity,would I be working here?” I responded. He laughed at that.

Likely? Try very very probable.

At least they’re being honest with him.

I have been witness to similar situations when I lived in the USA. People up here are mellower.
