I can very vividly remember Kindergarten: I was in a whole new world and I felt so grown up and didn’t know a thing about being grown up so I’d better pay attention. (We had crackers with our milk break, not cookies.)
When you come from the lowest echelons of society one can survive on foods that most people would consign to the compost pile. I’ve eaten things that weren’t even identifiable as food to survive in my younger days. yes I had Montezuma’s revenge a few times but I believe it just made my immune system stronger. Cookies a few years out of date will be fine. Heck even orange juice can be drunk until a year or so after it’s best by date, you just lose the vitamins over time, it doesn’t become poisonous.

I’m sure, like Twinkies, Oreos have a half life of years and years. Eat ’em up girls.

“Generic Oreos”
Hydrox debuted in 1908, Oreo was introduced in 1912. (It is better, though.)

By the way, dumpster diving is great green thinking. It avoids waste and reuses goods.
My beloved Agnes and Trout are very forward, progressive thinkers.
