Trout doesn’t realize that’s an old myth, similar to the one that said stepping on a clean nail was safe, and only a rusty nail was dangerous. Science long ago debunked the idea that a Reese’s wrapped in a clean sock is safe, and that only the one wrapped in a dirty sock is dangerous.

It is good that they have a different procedures for eating candy rolled up in a sock depending on whether it is dirty or clean.
