They left out the part about the babes who crossed the Delaware with him when I was taught history. That was back when they didn’t report on a presidents “activities” I guess.
They were called “Camp Followers.” A little over 80 years (four score and…) later, some of these Soiled Doves were known as General Joseph Hooker’s Girls. That was probably worse than the Convention Circuit, what with stray cannon balls to go along with the smaller kind.
