Not everything will be junk. Some things will be valuable antiques. But what Agnes has found definitely fits the description of “junk”.

The Ol’ " One persons junk….etc," might apply here! A dead Snowthrower! The possibilities are endless!

You’re extremely poor, some people would look at everything you own and declare it junk

Maybe it’s so old it’s worth something and you can replace Grandma’s robot…er washing machine!

Don’t knock dumpster diving. When I was “between husbands” my girls would always check the dumpster. We got a vacuum cleaner with a broken switch – you had to plug it in and unplug it – that we used for years. An alarm clock with an inoperative snooze button and an aluminum saucepan were also their finds. I still use that saucepan; it’s the only one on the kitchen with the measurements marked on the inside.

I don’t “Dumpster Dive”, but one day, throwing my trash into a big dumpster for two apartment buildings, I saw a “solar” calculator just laying on top of the pile. It worked fine and I still have it.

As a city kid, the boy next door and I would alter our route home from school, to cut through the alley, on trash day. We would go more for the shiny treasures. Somewhere I still have a couple of unusual ashtrays.

Right attitude. Someday, everything we own will be junk and we won’t be owning it……

    Yep.

We need to develop regenerative materials.

Imagine laying out the floor plan and maybe a few poles to stretch from and then planting a house seed, or even a skyscraper seed.

    Let it grow its walls.

I’ve gotten a few useful items near dumpsters.
