….. does Agnes have “rhyme” in her dictionary? I … got my doubts
Oh, I figured that they were all Haiku. Wouldn’t have to rhyme.

So this story ark will be 85+ days?
It seems that Granny Aardvark sets strict conditions on her giving love (to Agnes, at least).
At least Agnes was able to convince Grandma to read her poems. Not a happy poem in the bunch? It is rather sad that all of the poems are sad.
The good news is that they’re all limericks.
Guess what else is sad?
This is a comic strip.
Grandma is being FUNNY!
Sure, she’s kind of mocking Agnes’ preteen angst…
But she’s not cruel or incompetent, or purposely crushing her granddaughter’s dreams…
She’s just a touch facetious and a mite sarcastic, and Agnes gets it.
She took Agnes in, and works much harder than she’d have to, at this age, if she hadn’t.
They love each other and do their best to take care of each other, in their limited circumstances.
And she knows quite well that not all 85 poems, and maybe not even two of them, will rhyme, or even be readable…. but she’s reading them anyway.
i think that i shall never see a poem as lovely as one about me…

Grandma’s being kind — she could’ve zinged Agnes when she said her poems were sad.
