I suspect he can´t hear.

I am expecting he is a shy, socially uncomfortable kid. Biblio suggested perhaps a victim of bullying, but I am kind of hoping that is not the case. Hopefully AJ will be good for him as a friend and things will work out well.

I agree with both of you NAILER and PIPE TOBACCO. It’s possible he’s both hard of hearing and has been bullied for it. Either way I agree AJ and Magnus would be good friends for him. Hope it happens!

Or, word is out that he has two dads and; therefore, must be shunned. Children learn prejudice at home…

Seeing that he’s fixated, on the truck’s wheels, I suspect that he has Autism.

Notice how tightly he’s clutching that toy truck of his. Based on that, I’d say he at the very least has trust issues, that he doesn’t trust A.J. around his property.

A little coaxing could bring him back.

I expect Magnus is a good fuzz therapist. Kids sometimes open up to an animal when they won’t trust anybody else. Adults, too.

My thought was initially that he could be afraid of dogs. There is a LOT of that around here, but ESPECIALLY the BIG breeds…. :-(
