Yup; happened to my brother (a lawyer whose cat we adopted later; different reasons).
There are ancient clay tablets and medieval manuscripts with paw prints on them.

Haha, this one made me blow coffee out of my nose. Well done. Both my wife and I learned long ago to close the door when doing any important tasks. Though it does drive them crazy.
Think of it as a wash.
They did that just to show you that you shouldn’t leave that ink unattended.
