We switched to New York Seltzer (made in Walnut, CA) after Dr Brown’s was bought out in 2014. Much better stuff. And kosher, so we can have it with our Easter ham.
Ah, I must have read that poem in at least 5 different classes between 6th grade and college. I think my first reaction was, “that is not a poem!” With age and maturity (or maybe just repetition), I grew to enjoy the sly humor hidden behind the deceptive simplicity.
Had to review Williams. Yup. It’s interesting using panels as stanzas. A friend of mine once self published a booklet of found poetry. It consisted entirely of signs he saw on laundromat walls. One of the good results of my Jewish upbringing is seltzer. I buy the unflavored.
Down here in the Houston, Texas area the favorite carbonated mineral water is Topo Chico. It comes unflavored, twist of lime and grapefruit (juice only, no sugar or any other sweeteners). It is available at many Mexican restaurants. Very refreshing, as further attested to by a local meteorologist at the local NBC affiliate It is bottled in Mexico in glass bottles and sold by HEB (the largest grocer in Houston and probably most of Texas, since it is based in San Antonio). It is also sold by Amazon Whole Foods (originally started in Austin) Sprouts (California based), Walmart, Kroger, and Amazon Fresh. I hear it is popular in California as well. There is also an Austin (I think) based Texas country music duo called the Topo Chico Cowboys in honor of the Mexican mineral water. I think their fans started calling them that and the name stuck. Coca Cola acquired the company a few years back but they didn’t screw up the brand. They do have a spiked mineral water under the Topo Chico brand, but it is bottled in Tempe, AZ.

That was an effortful, effervescent apology.

Just tell him that the real reason you drank it was to make sure that it wasn’t past the drinkable date.

Girlfriend of mine from school used to serve those. Her mom would have frozen mugs and pour the seltzer in them. OH SOO GOOD!
