It is hard to get excited about it here, because we have way too many fair weather state people moving up here thinking they know how to drive in the stuff. Plus here snow typically is preceded by freezing rain, so under that fluffy stuff is pure ice.
We are finally getting temperatures dropping low enough in the next few weeks that snow will actually be possible, assuming there is any moisture that is. Really depressing to live in the northern Midwest US and hardly even have snow at Christmas anymore. Besides the beauty and winter sports, a decent snow cover means needed water for spring growing season. And this cartoon is actually dated several years ago which just shows how fast our weather patterns are changing. Brown, dry Christmas is depressing.
Oh snow!!! Love it!! And yes, I agree! Look at all the people who are thrilled at flowers popping up in the spring. Geez people, it happens every spring (unless the rabbits and/or deer eat them ) :).

Amanda, don’t EVER expect me to get excited about the first snowfall. If Arizona was in Canada, I’d live there.

At a particular time, once every twelve to fifteen years, we get snow, enough to play with for 15 minutes. It is definitely celebrated.

I’ve never understood the appeal of snow – not only can you be cold, you can be cold and wet at the same time.
