No more spinach? Just Kale me now.

I knew spinach would lead to the hard stuff!

He’s Popeye the sailor man,

He’s Popeye the sailor man,

To little avail, he tried to eat kale,

Poor Popeye the sailor man.

This raises a lot of questions

I yam not now who I yam before.

He’s definitely having an identity crisis.

He can think all he wants. His is sponsored by the Spinach Growers Association.

Kale has almost twice the fibre of spinach. So, when Olive is calling for help, you know where Popeye’s going to be.

Hint, add another O to his name…

Random Musings:

“Sacrilege!” was my first reaction. Then it occurred to me that this Popeye exists in an alternate universe (the universe of Andertoons), so it’s okay if he wants to eat kale. (It also explains this Popeye’s use of proper English.)

In the delightful Robin Williams Popeye movie (1980), he wanted carrots — didn’t get to spinach until later in the film. So there’s some precedent for him eating other things besides spinach.

if he switches to kale I’d say his taste in food will match his taste in women

That’s a different spin on your greens. Still ironic though.
